Sweet cat protects unhatched eggs, warms them, helps hatch them, raises the itty bitty chicks, and then becomes their lifelong friend

Honestly, we don't know where and how cats got such a bad rep about being aloof creatures. They're not. We, as actual cat owners with proper experience with cats, know that they are not. Cats are some of the most caring creatures. They just show their love more selectively than other creatures. You have to earn it. You have to be chosen by the cat, and not everyone gets that honor. But those who do… they will be loved by that cat until the very end. 

You can see it not just when cats show affection to humans but also when cats show affection to other creatures as well. They are so paternal, so caring, they will stick by these creatures through thick and thin. Like the cat you are about to meet today. We don't know why or how, but it looks like the kitty fell in love with some chicks. And she stuck by them - unhatched, hatched, itty bitty then grown. And yes, it's as wholesome as you think.

  • The curiosity that this cat shows is so genuine, it's almost hard to believe. We knew that cats were very paternal overall, and we knew that, despite their attempts to convince us otherwise, that cats are very friendly, but somehow, seeing this process still surprised us - in the best way.

  • We hope that these guys stay friends for a very, very long time. They are family at this point. There is no reason that we can think of to separate them if they truly are getting along as well as it seems. The only thing that we ask is that you keep documenting it and sharing it with all of us.
